Getting Ready For Beating Bowel Cancer Patient Day 2016

Next month I am going to be selling copies of the Lives & Times book at Beating Bowel Cancer's Patient Day 2016. The charity has very kindly granted a spot at the event at The Royal College Of Surgeons on April 16th.

This will be the first time I will have done anything like this, taking the book out the internet sales platform into the real world, so it's going to be a very exciting day I imagine. In making my preparations for the event I have made sure I have stocked up on both the paperback and hardback editions of the book. This is of course a bit of a gamble as if I don't sell many I will be left with quite a few books to shift... I am also in the process of creating a pop-up banner, and the first prototype design, which you can see above, has been created by my work neighbours. If the event goes well it could be something I look to do again at other events.

My mother got home from hospital last Friday and is recuperating well. The challenge now is to try and stop her doing too much and pace herself. She has bounced back from major surgery so well once again, but is doing way too much too soon. Very difficult to tell her to slow down with her selective hearing /stubborn streak! :)

The book fundraising total went past £950 over the weekend and is moving ever closer towards £1000. To get to this figure would be a fantastic achievement and testament to the wonderful support of everyone who has kindly bought the book so far. To see how you can order the book click here. Please support this book and help me raise as much money as possible for the charity. Bowel cancer remains the second biggest cancer killer in the UK, but if detected early has a survival rate of over 90%.
