Lives & Times Limited Edition Charity Prints - Fifth Layer

The fifth layer sees more work on the human head to the Lives & Times charity prints being created by Guildford artist, Adam Green. You are now able to start making your own interpretations, which is the beauty of art. The orange flowers signify new life and hope to me, although Adam's meaning could be completely different. Adam did this having arrived back from Portugal at 1.00 in the morning!

These Lives & Times prints will be sold on a first come first served basis, and will be limited to just 25 copies. Anyone interested can contact me on email. All proceeds raised will be donated to the Beating Bowel Cancer charity.

All materials being used have been donated by the Ochre Print Studio where Adam is working on it. Take a look at Adam's website.

Lives & Times Limited Edition Charity Prints - Fourth Layer

This week has seen the introduction of the human head to the Lives & Times charity prints being created by Guildford artist, Adam Green. This fourth layer sees the the first similarity to the original book cover. The prints are really taking shape now, and Adam still plans to add another 2-4 layers. I must thank Adam once again for embarking on this very generous fundraising project. All materials being used have been donated by the Ochre Print Studio where Adam is working on it. Take a look at Adam's website.

My Mum was diagnosed with stage 3 bowel cancer in 2012, and had a successful operation to remove a section of her bowel. Unfortunately the cancer spread to other parts of her body, and over the last four years she has had four lung operations to remove cancerous nodules. At the end of 2015 it was discovered that the cancer had also spread to her brain. She had treatment in January, but her condition has recently got much worse and she is now in Wexham Park Hospital awaiting further treatment.

Bowel cancer is the second highest cancer killer in the UK, and yet if caught early it is one of the most treatable with over 90% of patients surviving five years or longer. Much work remains to be done in raising awareness about this awful illness, and these prints, limited to just 25, will play a small part in helping to do this. These prints will be sold on a first come first served basis, and anyone interested can contact me on email. All proceeds raised will be donated to the Beating Bowel Cancer charity.

Lives & Times Limited Edition Charity Prints - Third Layer

The Lives & Times charity prints being created by Guildford artist, Adam Green, are now beginning to take shape. The third layer sees the introduction of a dramatic twist, which Adam wanted to represent the shock and impact of a cancer diagnosis, and how it can turn your would upside down.

Guest Blog on The Bowel Cancer Charity Book Blog

To see how you can order the Lives & Times bowel cancer charity book click here.

I am looking for people who would like to contribute a guest blog to this blog. No hard and fast rules, but as the blog is about a fundraising book for bowel cancer I would like posts to be at the very least based loosely on the blog's bowel cancer theme. For instance you might have bought /read the book. You might appear in the book! You might have a story to share about bowel cancer.

Don't worry I am nowhere near done with blogging  about the book yet, but I think it would be fascinating to get some other viewpoints and perspectives across too. The obvious benefits for me are an increased audience and that will hopefully mean a few more people buy the book. If you are interested in write a guest blog then contact me here.

Family Photo

If there are two things in this world that motivate Mum to carry on fighting cancer it's her granddaughter Anna and her horse Shimara. My sister Ali took this lovely just a couple of weeks ago when they were visiting Mum.

Following another seizure Mum is now in hospital and is waiting to learn more about how they intend to treat the cancer that has spread to her brain. It has been such a tough four years for Mum since being diagnosed with bowel cancer, but moments like this are beautiful and make such happy memories.

Lives & Times Limited Edition Charity Prints - Second Layer

Guildford artist Adam Green is currently producing a charity print inspired by the Lives & Times fundraising book. Like with sales of the book all the proceeds raised by sales of the limited edition prints will be donated to Beating Bowel Cancer. All materials being used have been donated by the Ochre Print Studio where Adam is working on it. Take a look at Adam's website.

It already looks amazing and you can already see how Adam uses layers to create depth in his work. Hopefully this project will not only raise funds for the charity, but help to raise awareness about bowel cancer, which is the second highest cancer killer in the UK.

To order a copy of the Lives & Times fundraising book go to my www.bowelcancerfundraising.co.uk website.
